Weicheng Testing’s 2021 Annual Emergency Drill for Radioactive Source Accidents

In order to further enhance our employees’ understanding of radioactive sources, as well as their ability to respond rapidly and handle emergencies involving such sources, to assess the collaborative capabilities of emergency response personnel, to clarify the division of responsibilities among departments, and to improve our company’s overall emergency response capacity—ensuring that, in the event of an emergency, we can carry out swift and efficient response measures to minimize the impact of any incident—we will also evaluate the scientific soundness, practicality, and operability of our radioactive source emergency response plan, thereby effectively safeguarding both public life and company property. In accordance with Luoyang Weicheng’s annual emergency drill schedule, we are hereby organizing this radioactive source accident emergency response drill.
On June 24, the company conducted the 2021 Radiological Source Incident Emergency Drill at its facility. The drill was chaired by Zhang Leilei, head of the company’s Engineering Department, and was attended by all employees.
At 4:50 p.m., all employees arrived punctually at the designated area of the factory and attentively listened to Manager Zhang Leilei’s briefing on radioactive sources and the emergency response plan for radiological incidents. The session included on-site explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on drills for handling every type of potential radiological emergency that could occur during work. Under the expert guidance of trained professionals, the entire exercise proceeded in an orderly and well-organized manner, with the employees’ steady and composed demeanor reflecting their confidence and sense of responsibility.

At every step, they handled the task with effortless ease, captivating the attention of the other employees participating in the drill. Manager Zhang Leilei’s insightful explanation and the operators’ professional execution created an immersive, lifelike experience for everyone.

Manager Zhang Leilei patiently explained to everyone the basic knowledge related to radioactive sources, as well as the precautions that must be observed during daily operations.
As the exercise was drawing to a close, participants took advantage of the final moments to share with their colleagues real-world or potential emergency scenarios involving radioactive sources, jointly analyzing the root causes and exploring appropriate response strategies, thereby learning from one another and advancing together.
The various emergency situations encountered during this exercise are all realistic scenarios that we may face in our future work. However, no one adopted a passive or perfunctory attitude simply because it was an exercise; instead, everyone approached it with utmost seriousness. With this, the 2021 Radiological Source Accident Emergency Response Drill conducted by Luoyang Weicheng Engineering Testing Co., Ltd. has been successfully concluded.
