3 month 25~26 On [date], hosted by the China Special Inspection Association 2020 The Annual Conference on Nondestructive Testing in the Special Equipment Industry and the Forum on High-Quality Development of the Industry were successfully held in Xiamen. With high-quality development as the central theme, delegates engaged in extensive and open discussions through keynote speeches, specialized lectures, interactive exchanges, and other formats, focusing on such topics as the research, development, and widespread application of advanced nondestructive testing technologies, innovation in industry systems and mechanisms, and digital transformation and development. These deliberations aimed to formulate strategies and offer insightful recommendations for advancing the industry’s high-quality development.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director Yang Zeshi emphasized that nondestructive testing institutions for special equipment must uphold the safety bottom line, rigorously manage industry risks, and accelerate transformation and upgrading to achieve high-quality development. Chairman Liu Sanjiang underscored that, in the course of the industry’s pursuit of high-quality development, it is essential to vigorously advance supply-side reform, expedite the optimization and transformation of the supply structure, adhere to innovation-driven development to promote technological and model innovation, strengthen institutional capacity-building and standardize internal corporate management, reinforce integrity-building to foster a favorable development environment for the industry, and leverage the role of industry associations to enhance industry cohesion.
At the annual conference, Deputy Director Jiang Yun delivered a special report titled “Radiation Safety Regulation of Gamma Radiographic Sources,” covering radiation safety oversight of radiographic sources, case studies of typical radiation-source safety incidents, and the plan for next-step regulatory efforts.
At the technical forum, leaders and experts from organizations including the China Special Equipment Inspection and Testing Institute, China National Pipeline Group, China Energy Group, Wuhan University, and Tencent Technology were invited to discuss 2025 Development trends in new nondestructive testing technologies such as planning and development, intelligent inspection, and intelligent film evaluation, as well as metals 3D Prepare a special report on the demand for nondestructive testing technologies in fields such as printing, long-distance pipelines, and thermal power generation.
At the management forum, guests including Song Jihong, former Director of the Special Equipment Bureau of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine; Lin Shuqing, former President of the China Academy of Special Equipment Inspection; Wei Yungang, Vice President of Bureau Veritas; and Zheng Hui, Director of the Nondestructive Testing Research Institute of the China Academy of Special Equipment Inspection, were invited to engage in interactive Q&A sessions on issues of widespread concern. Compared with previous years, this year’s annual conference featured a special symposium with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, as well as additional technical and management forums. Renowned experts from both inside and outside the industry were invited to engage in exchanges on hot topics such as technological innovation, managerial innovation, and institutional innovation, all under the overarching theme of high-quality development. These initiatives deepened participants’ understanding of high-quality industry development, helped them accurately grasp future directions, and delivered a fresh and enriching experience to all attendees, ultimately ensuring the event’s complete success.

On October 11, Luoyang Weicheng Engineering Testing Co., Ltd. held a large-scale training and competition—specifically, a γ-ray radiographic inspection radiation emergency response drill—under the theme “Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies.” The event invited leaders from the provincial, municipal, and district levels to attend and observe.
