Phased array
In recent years, ultrasonic phased-array (PA) technology has garnered increasing attention due to its flexible beam steering and focusing capabilities. The integrated application of advanced technologies—including piezocomposite materials, nanosecond pulse signal control, data processing and analysis, software engineering, and computer simulation—in the field of ultrasonic phased-array imaging has propelled the rapid development of this technique, leading to its gradual adoption in industrial nondestructive testing. Compared with conventional pulse-echo techniques, it offers the following distinct advantages:
1. Inspecting hard-to-reach areas;
2. Faster detection speed and greater detection flexibility;
3. Enables detection of defects in complex structural components and in blind-spot areas;
4. By employing a localized array of piezoelectric elements for acoustic field control, high-speed electronic scanning can be achieved, enabling rapid, comprehensive, and multi-angle inspection of test specimens.
