The Eighth National Safety Production Month
2023-04-10
2023 marks the inaugural year for fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and April 15 will see the eighth National Security Education Day. This year’s Safety Production Month is themed “Implement the Overall National Security Concept, enhance public awareness and competence in national security, and consolidate the social foundation for safeguarding the new development paradigm through a new security framework.” Our company has actively responded to the call, earnestly carried out publicity on safety production, thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on safety production, conducted in-depth work on safety risk prevention and control as well as hazard identification and remediation, and rigorously organized emergency response drills and case-based warning education, thereby effectively
Surface Wave Flaw Detection Method in Ultrasonic Testing
2023-04-01
Surface acoustic waves (SAW) are a type of elastic wave that propagates along the surface of a solid. SAWs were first discovered in the 1880s by the British physicist Lord Rayleigh during his study of seismic waves; he observed that certain sound waves exhibited energy concentration and propagated primarily near the Earth’s surface. Surface waves are highly effective for inspecting near-surface defects. As theoretical analyses indicate, because the energy of surface waves is concentrated within approximately two wavelengths below the surface,
The Most Easily Overlooked Details in Magnetic Particle Testing
2023-03-25
We know that magnetic particle testing is relatively simpler than radiographic and ultrasonic testing, and the defects it detects are generally of lower severity. Consequently, magnetic particle testing operators often overlook certain detailed issues. However, as inspectors responsible for ensuring product quality, we must possess a high level of professional integrity and meticulously control every step of the process. Below are several points that the author has identified as being most easily overlooked by operators: 1. During inspection, the current is typically maintained at no less than 1050 A (this value is specific to the workpieces handled by the author’s organization).
Nondestructive Testing Technology for Oil and Gas Pipelines
2023-03-17
I. Nondestructive Testing of Piping Components 1. Testing of Steel Pipes for Piping Applications Buried pipeline materials include seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes. For seamless steel pipes, liquid-immersion or contact ultrasonic testing is primarily used to detect longitudinal defects. Liquid-immersion testing employs line-focused or spot-focused transducers, while contact testing uses angled transducers or focused angled transducers that closely conform to the pipe surface. Eddy-current testing can be applied to all types of metallic piping to detect surface and near-surface defects. For welded steel pipes, welds are subject to radiographic sampling inspection or 100% inspection; for 100%
Our company is distributing Women’s Day benefits to all female employees.
2023-03-11
In the third month of spring, peach blossoms bloom in vibrant profusion, their radiant beauty illuminating the world. As International Women’s Day approaches, our company has taken the opportunity to show its care for our female employees by distributing thoughtful holiday gifts in advance and extending warm festive wishes. This gesture is intended to ensure that every woman at Luoyang Weicheng feels the warmth and affection of our big family, allowing her to celebrate this special day with love and joy. We wish all our female employees a happy holiday! Through life’s storms and sunshine, like a resounding rose, may every woman embrace her most beautiful self—treasuring time and cherishing herself—so that she may always remain beautiful and confident!
The market for non-destructive testing of pipelines constructed using trenchless methods is steadily expanding.
2023-03-03
With the accelerated pace of urban development, underground utility networks are being laid ever more densely, resulting in a complex and interwoven web of pipelines that crisscross and tangle beneath city streets. Traditional trenching methods for pipe installation are characterized by long construction periods, significant environmental impacts, and high safety risks. To ensure the efficient and safe operation of urban infrastructure and to maximize the utilization of vertical underground space, an increasing number of trenchless construction techniques—such as pipe jacking, microtunneling, and directional drilling—are being applied in engineering projects. This, in turn, has placed new demands and challenges on detection technologies for deeply buried trenchless pipelines. I. Trenchless Pipeline Detection
Application of Eddy Current Testing in Equipment Corrosion Inspection
2022-12-29
In equipment corrosion detection, the inspection technique is of paramount importance, directly determining the quality of the inspection. The adoption of eddy current testing is conducive to improving the efficiency of equipment inspection. I. Principle of Pulse Eddy Current Scanning Technology Eddy current testing is an inspection method that leverages the principles of electromagnetic induction. During implementation, the eddy currents generated through electromagnetic induction are utilized to conduct a practical analysis of the magnetic impedance within the equipment, thereby providing insights into its operational performance. The application of eddy current testing in contemporary equipment inspection
Magnetic Particle Testing Techniques and Methods for Welds in Pressure Piping
2022-12-03
The basis of magnetic particle testing lies in the magnetic interaction between the leakage magnetic field at a defect and magnetic particles: when a ferromagnetic material or workpiece is magnetized, any discontinuities on or near the surface cause local distortion of the magnetic flux lines as they leave and re-enter the material, thereby generating magnetic poles and forming a detectable leakage magnetic field. This leakage field attracts the magnetic particles applied to the workpiece surface, producing magnetic marks that are visually observable under appropriate lighting, thus revealing the location, shape, and size of the discontinuity. I. Scope of Application for Magnetic Particle Testing Magnetic particle testing is suitable for detecting ferromagnetic materials.
